Voice setup
Proximity voice through Mumble: hear players by in-game distance and direction. Free for everyone, always optional.
Read this before installing anything
- The proximity plugin is third-party community software. It is not built or maintained by ClearCode Digital.
- It reads the game's memory on your own machine to work out where your dinosaur is — that is how proximity volume works.
- It is not endorsed by the game's developers and may stop working after a game update.
- Voice is optional. Nothing about VIP or donations depends on installing it, and no paid feature ever will.
Before you start
- Voice has a stated minimum age of 13. You will be asked to confirm this when you link your account.
- Voice is never recorded, stored, or transcribed. Moderation is report-driven — the report route is one tap away in every voice context.
- Parents: there is a plain-English guide to what voice is and how reporting works.
Setup, step by step
- Sign in and get a linking code. Go to account settings and issue a voice linking code. It is 6 characters, single-use, and expires after 15 minutes — the countdown is shown next to it.
- Install the Mumble client. Download it from the official Mumble site and install it normally.
- Connect to the community Mumble server. The address and port are pinned in Discord alongside the current plugin version. Any username is fine — identity comes from the next step, not the name.
- Link your account. Send your code to the registration channel bot (or enter it in the linking UI). Linking binds your Mumble client certificate to your Steam identity, so you only ever do this once per device — reconnecting later needs no code.
- Install the proximity plugin. Follow the pinned Discord instructions for the current game patch. After a game update the plugin may need an update too; the pin says which version works.
- Join the server and talk. While you are in the game server, you are placed in the proximity channel automatically. Leave the game and voice access follows — you are moved to a holding channel until you are back in.
If something is wrong
Heard something that breaks the rules — or worse? Report it now. Reports capture who you are reporting and when; they never capture audio, because none exists.
Report a voice incidentLinking code not accepted? Codes are single-use and expire after 15 minutes — issue a fresh one from account settings. Still stuck? Ask in Discord; a moderator can see your link status.
